Yamaha YOB-411 Wood Oboe w/Plastic Top Joint (Used) #6863

This Model is Half Wood, full range and full conservatory.  It is a high end intermediate instrument that I recommend through the high school level.  It includes several alternate keys not found on lower end models and is easier to play than other intermediate model instruments.  Extra keys include the left F key and the low Bb.   This instrument is the version with the plastic top joint, which is designed to minimize cracking and changing of the wood over time.  Yamaha instruments are known for their precision and consistency, and this model is no different. It is one of the best intermediate oboe models available and is great to learn the Oboe on for its high quality and simplicity. The keys are silver plated and look great.  There are some minor scratches on the instrument body, bell and keywork.  The silver plating looks great, but does have some wear and stubborn tarnish on several keys.  The logo is starting to fade, but is still visible.  The case shows a bit of wear, more so than the instrument, but is still in great shape. Everything is perfectly functional on this instrument and in addition to the Oboe, you will receive a new Oboe reed, swab, and cork grease: everything you need to get started and take good care of your new instrument for years to come.
