Heckel instruments are made in a small workshop Wiesbaden, Germany, which only makes about 100 instruments per year. This is why new instruments can often cost $70,000+ and you only have that privilege after being on a waiting list currently about 8 years long! For most players, used Heckels are the only option available.
There are definitely cosmetic issues with this instrument, including metal and finish wear. Many pads are new, but not all. There are repaired cracks on some sockets. But the instrument seals and plays very well.
The one caution with this instrument (and the reason it isn’t being offered for double the price or more) is that the serial number plate is likely not original to the instrument. According to a couple different people who have looked at this instrument, the makers marks and design of the keywork indicate the instrument’s age as being produced somewhere around the 5000 serial range. Is it possible that older components were used in the production of a newer instrument? sure, but unfortunately we can’t say for sure. It is a Heckel, and it plays very well. It is worth a try and would be a great affordable match for a serious pre-professional or amateur.  Includes a 30 Day return policy so you can feel free to get to know the instrument at your leisure before making the final decision to keep it or not.
A Post-war Heckel Bocal is included with this instrument and comes in a nice fox hard case.  Please ask any questions about this instrument, we are happy to help.
