Fox Renard Model 51 Short Reach Bassoon (Used) #14367

For sale is a Fox Model 51 ‘short reach’ bassoon in excellent condition. This high quality resonite bassoon was made in the USA by Fox, one of the premier bassoon makers in the world.  The model 51 is a special instrument in that is modified slightly to fit smaller hands, ideal for middle school and younger as a first bassoon. This instrument is in great shape and was overhauled, replacing all pads in the process.  The instrument has been further adjusted and plays cleanly and evenly up and down.  This is a great starter bassoon, and because of the high quality fox design, you will find that it will play better than many lesser quality wooden ones.  A Standard bocal is included with this instrument. The shiny nickel plating on the keys is in great condition.  This instrument plays wonderfully, but as it is designed for small hands, adults will have to adjust to play this instrument.

From a cosmetic perspective, the plastic body has some minor scratching and small dings around the instrument.  The plating is polished and in very nice condition, but has a little wear, especially where the fingers make contact with the metal.  Overall, it has held up well and is extremely clean and shiny throughout most of the instrument.  That said, the photos speak for themselves.  This instrument plays great, and looks great.  The case is a new Protec case.  Also included is a silk swab, seat strap, hand crutch, and reed.  Please ask any questions about this instrument, we are happy to help. Also included is a silk swab, seat strap, hand crutch, and reed.  Please ask any questions about this instrument, we are happy to help.
