The case is very functional, shows a bit of exterior wear but overall is in excellent condition.   Cosmetically, this instrument is in great condition, and really shines. There are some minor imperfections and indications of prior use on the finish on the wood. There are small dings, scratches, and chips in the lacquer that are highlighted in the photos below, especially on the wing joint, as is typical. The silver plated keywork really shines. That said, the photos speak for themselves. This instrument plays great, and looks great. Also included is a silk swab, seat strap, hand crutch, and reed. Please ask any questions about this instrument, we are happy to help. A pair of bocals is included – a generic bocal in good condition and a usable Fox C Bocal with a bend in it. We are including both because during playtesting the Fox bocal still outperformed the generic.
The 222 is an excellent wooden bassoon that was designed with younger as well as older players in mind. Built in are a few small key extensions that an older player will not notice, but can accommodate slightly smaller hands than the 220 or 240 renard models while at the same time maintaining standard feel and sizing for older players.
