Up for auction is an overhauled Fox Renard Model II Wood bassoon in nice condition with a brand new protec case and all new pads. The Model II was one of the first models of Fox bassoons developed by Hugo Fox modeled after his personal Heckel bassoon. These instruments are hard to find and still play very well.  This high quality Wooden bassoon is made in the USA by Fox, one of the premier bassoon makers in the world. This instrument includes standard keywork plus High D keywork for full range. They are known for having a great dark sound and are one of the most affordable professional bassoons on the market. A new Professional grade bassoon from fox is now over $20,000. Now, you can have a Fox bassoon for a fraction of the cost.
We have just finished overhauling this instrument, and it is now in great playing condition with all new pads. It plays cleanly and evenly up and down. The keywork was buffed to a high polish, and looks great.  The black finish however does show quite a bit of wear.  It is mostly intact, but there are many spots where the wood is visible underneath. This is just a cosmetic issue however. The bassoon itself plays wonderfully.  The case is a nice new protec case (on request we can swap this out for a used hard case).  Also included is a silk swab, seat strap, hand crutch, and reed. Please ask any questions about this instrument, we are bassoonists and are happy to help.  A Bocal is included with this instrument.
